February Summary

Hey guys! Since I wasn’t able to post as much as I want this whole month, and to be exact this post is actually the second post of the month lol… hence I decided to do a summary of my favourite highlights of the month.

Hiking At Bukit Janggut

It’s my second hike for the year! How I miss hiking although I’m pretty sure my stamina wasn’t that good after being hiatus from any exercises for so long. My left knee and my right ankle (the one that got sprained before) was acting poor too when we got down from the hill. ughh. Anyway, I’m glad nothing extra drama other than that and we managed to reached the top with a beautiful sunrise view and of course fresh morning air!

Family Trip To Ranau

It’s a 2D/1N trip and we stayed at my aunt’s house for a simple Chinese New Year dinner. We went to the church together on the next day and later that evening we visited one of the new attractions there called Ranau Rabbit Farm. The entrance fee is RM3 only which is a lot more cheaper than the other Rabbit farm located few kilometres from this place. Love that umbrella-sky! We had a great short time.

Yup. I got my hair permed. Thanks to my aunty for the great service! 😁

JOOX Cafe Grand Opening

Attended this event with Fay and some other bloggers. It was a great time! I always enjoyed a Lion dance performance! I salutes to the men behind the lion costumes for whatever moves they made especially when they’re jumping on that stairs-pole. That cute little desserts there called Cow Dung Tart – what a name huh? πŸ˜‚ It tasted good though. Congratulations once again to Joox Cafe!

Caban Retreat

Wrote about this on this post. 😁

Lunch at Kaffie House

Had my lunch at this new cafe in town. It’s small cafe but with a good ambience and like always, I love this kind of interior. I had Chicken Roll with Nasi Kerabu for lunch and iced Soy Milk that only costs me about RM13. That’s quite cheap came from a cafe-standard. Food was okay except that chicken roll was a bit salty. Should have try the Asam Fish at first.

Andddd that’s a wrap! How was your February? I hope you guys had an awesome moments. Until my next post! πŸ¦‹

A Day Trip to Cabana Retreat

Helloooo! I am sorry for the long break and not posting anything. I guessed that’s what they call it “writer’s block”?

Anyway, here’s one short post today and hoping there’s more soon!

πŸ“Cabana Retreat, Rampayan Laut Kota Belud

Cabana Retreat is a pop up beach resort or glamping (grand/luxurious camping) site nearby the beach!

It took us an hour drive to reach this place from our home. Thanks to Google map 😁. When we arrived and parked our car, my sister was kind of disappointed with what she saw? Lol. She expected a MORE luxurious view with a grass carpet or something. I cannot believe her πŸ˜‚ Because seriously it’s my first time seeing a glamping site in my life. So girl, never ever put a high expectation on something. πŸ˜…

Since we’re not staying, I thought we don’t have to pay anything for a sightseeing purposes. The receptionist said, there’s no entrance fee but we need to purchase a soft drink from their bar which cost us RM5 each. Lol. Okay acceptable. There’s nothing free in this world you know.

It was windy that time so we didn’t go play more further near the beach. I am sure that apart from inside the camp, there’s still something they need to improve at their bar. But no worries Cabana, we’re not spreading negativity here hehehe. It was a great experience. Hoping to stay one night next time.

We didn’t stay this time so I got no pictures of the grand interior inside the camp to share with you guys. But I’ve seen it from their page and it’s so beautiful! You can check out their page at this link.

Thanks sister for being the great photographer during the trip πŸ˜†

For lunch, we bring our own food and planned to have a little picnic on the beach but it was too windy for a picnic so we just ate our food inside the car…still nearby the beach at least. πŸ˜…

It was a good time and I think we got a little tanned! Yay!

I think that’s all for now. Until my next post! ☺️

Prosperity Lunar New Year Buffet @ Ibis Styles Kota Kinabalu

Chinese New Year is coming and we’re so thankful that Ibis Styles Kota Kinabalu invited us for a food review for their Prosperity Lunar Buffet dinner at Gabion Bistro last night.

Let’s take a look at the menu details:

The buffet will be available every Friday to Sunday starting this 1st of February until 19th February. The prices details are stated in the picture below:

We started with taking photos and then tossing the Yee Sang (Prosperity Toss) a symbol of welcoming prosperity. Each of the condiments has a meaning to it.

The higher you toss, the better luck you’ll get. 😁

The better the messy, the better the grounds of well wishes covering your life. πŸ˜‰

Moving forward, I don’t have a picture of the Double-boiled Chicken Soup with Chinese Herbs but man it was so good! So comforting and truly emphasised my hungry level – need more yummy food lol.

Some of their signature dish are Roasted Peking Duck, Golden Yam Ring with Kung Pao Chicken and Kam Heong Crab with White Clams. There is so much more!

Love the Kung Pao Chicken!

Personally, I really love this Black Pepper Lamb Shoulder! Tender and flavourful! Great pair with that Steam Jasmine Rice. mmm mmm!

Stir-fried Snapper with Chili Bean Sauce

Steamed Chicken with Ham & Tofu – this was good too!

They also served some traditional snacks such as Deep-fried Sweet Sticky Rice with Yam and Sweet Potatoes , Deep-fried Banana with Caramel Sauce and Fish & Prawn Crackers.

And of course my most favourite part of any buffet, has got to be the desserts station!

Double Chocolate Cheesecake – soooo good!

Mango Mousse Cheesecake – I got nothing else to say other than ‘soooo good’ lol!

Buffet was good, happy tummy! Thanks Ibis Styles KK!
