August Favourites

Briefly about my highlights for the month of August on beauty products, drama, and food. (skip music this time – just because…)

Beauty

I’m still struggling with finding the right facial wash for my skin concerns (blackheads/whiteheads/pores/dull skin) now but so far this Simple Moisturising Facial Wash is good. Doesn’t give me breakouts and no tight-feeling on skin after washing.

Around July, during my 2 weeks of no hair-wash confinement, I got this terrible itchy scalp that leads to the worst dandruff experience I ever had, and also hairfall problem. I was about to buy the organic coconut shampoo but was sceptical about its smell later so I got this Faith Fleur Shampoo anyway. It smells soooo good! Just about two times hair wash in a week, I was really surprised that my dandruff were no longer visible. Of course there’s still hairfall but let just have a little faith alright! As for the Faith Fleur Serum, it smells nice too! I didn’t purchase the conditioner together with the shampoo because I’m just one lazy lady here to apply conditioner. So this serum kinda helps my frizzy tangled hair. Hair feels so soft.

I don’t really care about UV protection before until I realized I’m not getting young and my skin looks older than my age. *sad but true* So I saw there’s free sample for this Biore UV Aqua Rich, and signed up for it immediately! It’s only 15gm and I’ve been using this for more than a month now. Yup! Just a little amount is enough to cover my whole big face lol. I really like the watery essence that doesn’t feel sticky like other usual sunscreen. Sure I’m gonna buy the full size soon.

Drama

If you read my July favorites blog post, I’ve stated that one of my favorite drama was Sunny Again Tomorrow and it still my favorite up to the month of August because it’s still going on. There’s a new one though:

30 But Still 17 – A 17 years old girl fell into a coma after an accident. 13 years later, she wakes up from her coma and she’s 30 years old but her mental-age is still that of a 17 years old. And…aah I can’t wait to finish this drama.

Food That I Cook

Black Pepper Beef – Definitely one my favorite dish that I cook! I don’t really dare to cook beef worrying that the meat will harden instead of tender. Fortunately it was tender and of course juicy!

Penne Carbonara – I looove carbonara! It’s the opposite for my husband so I got the whole pot of carbonara alone! Hehe.

That’s a wrap for August Favorites! Now it’s time to read all your interesting blog post 😊

Wishing us all to have a great moment on this new month! 🌸

July Favorites

It’s the last day of July. Time flies. A lot has happened this month and it’s went just too quick for me. Anyway, I’m in a good progress of letting go all those sad and painful memories.

Let’s begin talking ’bout my July favorites, shall we?!

Beauty

Aloe Vera Soothing Gel

Got this as a gift from my aunt from her recent trip to Korea. Thanks! I know it’s not something new for some of you and I’ve seen this being sell here a lot too. Now this aloe vera soothing gel here, was really helpful during this hot weather. And I remember during our last trip to the island before, I got a terrible sunburnt and I thanked myself for not forgetting to bring along this soothing gel. Applied it all over my face and body. It’s relief the tingling burning straight away. Even my husband use this too since he dives really often recently and got bad sunburn due to the hot weather now.

Simple Soothing Facial Toner

I only officially started using this on the 2nd week of July and I think I love it. My sister got a really bad skin condition now (teenager hormones sucks i know) and she barely can use any skincare on her face except this one. She told me it helps in reducing the redness of her face due to the acne and it doesn’t have that ‘tight’ feeling like other toner she ever used before. So I bought one and so far it’s good. No breakouts.

St. Ives Apricot Scrub

Received this from St. Ives Malaysia early this month, thank you! I love this scrub, although it said the exfoliation factor is in a ‘deep’ level instead of gentle or moderate, it doesn’t feel like it’s going to scratch my skin upon massaging. I loveeee the smell too! ❤

Korean TV Series

Sunny Again Tomorrow

I do watched a lot of movies on HBO & fox movies (idk why I don’t subscribe Netflix? lol) but this korean drama is the one that makes me stop doing anything and sit in front of the tv every 7.25pm. It’s not that ‘up’ show compared to any other drama but there’s just something I love about this show. Or maybe I’m the type that won’t follow the ‘trend’? 😅 contoh: saya tidak tingu tu husna 😂

What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim

Okay, this one I admit I started watching it because lots of my friends posted the highlighted clip on Facebook and it’s kind of interesting and funny too. I’m only on episode 6 though while they’re already finished watching this and move on to another new drama 😆

Songs (some old some new)

  1. Bazzi – Dreams
  2. Khalid ft. Billie Eilish – Lovely
  3. Folly Rae – Sniper
  4. GJan – One More Drink
  5. Witt Lowry ft. GJan – Phone
  6. Reyko – Spinning Over You

So that’s it…nothing extra special on my favourites 😅 anyway, wishing you guys have a great time and don’t forget to smile 😁

Thanks for reading lovelies! 💗

…yayy finally it’s raining!

Review: La’soul Dual Tattoo Brow

Few months ago, my lil’ sister got sponsored by a stockist of la’soul product for a test and review post on Instagram. So lucky…I never got the opportunity to get sponsored for a product – try and review lol. I guess I’m not as popular as she is 😂

La’soul beauty product was founded well back in 2013, as Skin Nutrition Expert from Seoul, South Korea. Frankly, I’m not a user of this product but since my sister got this eyebrow tattoo pen, why not I give it a try!

La’soul Claims: (as from their website)

  • Makes natural drawing and powerful coloring at once
  • Easy to use and dry fast
  • Contains ingredients that help strengthen eyebrow follicle
  • Long lasting eyebrow
  • Regrowing eyebrow

Price:

RM79 (If I’m not mistaken)

Before – Eyebrows:

*PLEASE excuse my messy face, hair and background lol

Eyebrows were left messy for almost a month. It’s not clear but I can tell that my hair were all over in between the eyebrows.

Applying:

Like ahjumma! 😂 Fortunately my sister was in the mood that night for some coloring session lol. It took us about an hour for tweezing, shaving and drawing. Well, she never did it on anyone else before so I guess she needed that long minutes to help me to get that so-called-perfect-eyebrows.

How to apply it?

Just apply it as thick as you can on your eyebrows using both different brushes. Make sure your face is washed clean and do not wear any skincare before applying this eyebrow tattoo.

After applied:

I. Looked. Funny. 😂 Even my husband asked me to wipe it off immediately that night but of course I ignored him 😆

Instructions:

Leave it for overnight and wash off in the next morning.

After wash – Eyebrows:

Well, I could see there’s a slight difference but it didn’t wow me enough like how I expected it should be. But at least it looks natural…just not that fleek lol. I did eyebrows wax and tint once few years ago, and I super love the results that I seriously didn’t need my eyebrows pencil for months.

Anyway, I did try re-apply it again the next night and the results are slightly better now. Pictures below.

I don’t think there’s any harm in reapplying as I read somewhere that this product contains no harsh chemicals. I hope it’s true.

Pros:

  • Easy to apply
  • Smells something natural instead of chemicals-odor
  • Tidy eyebrows and looks natural

Cons:

  • Does not dry fast

That’s my verdict for now. My sister said it will only last for 2-3 days 😅 I’ll see how it goes.

Thanks for reading. Until my next post! ✌

Love, Mich 🌷
